Enhance Your Web Browser IQ With Chrome Extensions Part Deuce

by Mike Dillinger on March 23, 2010

Hopefully I inspired some people to try out some of these superb extensions.  I continued to spend more time today playing around with some and wanted to share some more of the really good ones with you.

If you want to do your own extension searching just be advised!!!!  Be sure to read the reviews and get some feedback from people who have tested these out.  If you see any extensions that don’t have many users or any comments than you should probably skip that one.

LastPass – I had to put this one first this time, because its one of the best.  I use RoboForm, but it doesn’t work well with Chrome which forces me to use Firefox from time to time.  However, if you don’t have Roboform this is the extension for YOU!  This extension will fill out login information for you giving you an option to auto fill forms on certain websites or auto fill and a login.  It’s not perfect, but it’s free, and it will save you a lot of time!  The data is stored on an encrypted server so it’s secured, and going by the reviews there hasn’t been any serious security issues.  You can even look at all the saved login/password information and make editing choices from there.  I’m going to skip putting up a picture….if your not using RoboForm click on the link and read the stellar reviews….you won’t regret it!

Feedly – One of the highest rated extensions for Chrome, and it is well deserved.  Use this extension to send all your RSS feeds into a homepage with probably the cleanest interface of all Feed Readers.  If you do a lot of reading on the internet this extension was made for you.  Stream your Twitter feeds here, blogs, or favorite websites.  The screenshot will show you how clean and well organized the interface is.

AutoPagerize – I mentioned the Fastest Chrome extension recently, but I got annoyed with most of the default options.  I used the options to disable most of them, and found that this was the only one I wanted to keep.  I think the picture explains this one well enough, but in case it doesn’t you get one very long page on a Google search as opposed to having to hit next page all the time.

Incredible Start Page - Incredible Start page is a refreshing alternative.  It offers a friendly home page background with a notepad, bookmarks bar, and picture box with an array of high quality HD shots.Robot Theme – This is why I don’t use Incredible Start Page.  This Robot Theme is pretty awesome.  Have a look =)

Robot Theme

You know you want it!

Secbrowsing - Very simple and very convenient.  This will occasionally check your extensions for updates so that you don’t end up with an out of date version.  I can’t think of a picture….so here’s a cat doing a flying kick on a dog.

Chromed Bird – I felt somewhat obligated to put this one in even though most people on twitter probably already know about it.  If you don’t well today is your lucky day.  This handy little extension will integrate twitter into your extensions bar equipped with recent tweets, a tweet option, link shortening, neat drop-down menu, and winning lottery numbers.  Have a look.Xmarks Bookmarks SyncSync all your bookmarks on multiple computers from all of your different web browsers and keep them organized into different categories.  Don’t really need a picture for this one….and I’m out of kung-fu cat pictures so….

The Camelizer – Add price history charts to Chrome and watch the product prices change.  Supports Amazon, Best Buy, Newegg, and other retailers.  The Camelizer also lets you track products so that you can create a price watch.  Receive these alerts from Twitter, Email, or an RSS Feed.Invisible Hand – Invisible Hand will notify you if a product you’re browsing is available at a cheaper price elsewhere.  I haven’t tried this one out yet, because I don’t do a lot of shopping, but it has some really good reviews and a lot of ppl are using it.Slideshow – Turns your favorite photo sharing site into a image slideshow.  Very straightforward extension here.  A small bar pops up on the bottom of your browser with the image slides and in the main browser above that you get the picture your looking at in all it’s splendor and glory.  This supports Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, and Google Images.  If you use Flickr a lot this is definitely worth a look.Webpage Screenshot – You don’t even need to have an internet connection to use this baby!  Does exactly what it says.

Picknik Extension for Chrome – Just like the above extension but with an editor.  All depends on what your looking for.  Try them both out and see which you like better.

Translation Bar – Immediately translate any webpage into your preferred language.  Self-explanatory, enjoy!

WoWhead Search – For the World of Warcrack people out there….get this extension for on the fly Wowhead searches from your toolbar.AutoHD for YouTube – Can’t explain it any better than the title.

Stop Auto-Play for YouTube – YouTube’s auto-play can be really annoying so give this extension a shot if you find yourself getting irritated.

Facebook Chat Emoticons – I haven’t tried this one out yet, but Im sure someone out there would enjoy this.  Facebook StylerCustomize your Facebook profile with this extension.  Just click the link for this one….your going to want to take a closer look at all the pictures if this interests you.

This is more than enough extensions to keep you occupied for a while.  If you found this post useful please take a moment to share this story by clicking one of the icons below.  If you want to share your opinion please leave a comment about your experiences with these extensions.
